Hewlett Courtyard - "Luxury" in name and price only!
Hey all, this is the admin for this blog, Josh, and I will relate to you some of my personal experiences with the complex and management. Firstly, the management prior to Fairfield was not great, but they were not that bad either. My wife and I have lived in the complex for four years and are most definitely NOT happy with the recent "changes", as are many other residents.
Main issues:
Main issues:
- The "improvements" - the management company took over almost a half-year ago, yet they are still doing basic things like siding the building and the garages - a job that should take weeks by a competent contractor. The work is clearly being done by the lowest bidder as the "crown" molding is certainly not fit for a king. It is uneven, and the interior has yet to be overhauled, something promised to us as tenants months ago.
- The heat - At night the apartments are C-O-L-D - COLD. The current management company is clearly defraying the costs associated with renovating the building by cutting down on BASIC utilities available to tenants - like heat! How do we know? - Well for one, each apartment has been outfitted with an "Accustat" thermostat. The thing has 2, yes only 2 settings - 68 or 72 degrees. This might be okay except that 68 equates to OFF and 72 means that if you reach under the coils of the heating element you can feel the faintest hint of heat whispering off the unit. At night, it seems nearly shut off at times. We thought this was just our unit, but after talking with the others mentioned above, we determined something was up. So, a "luxury" building with little to no heat at times - highly questionable. We called Fiarfield and after a full week they got back to us that it was within county levels ---- WE ARE NOT satisfied that as "luxury" tenants paying"luxury" prices we are being equated with section 8 levels - we should have adequate heat.
- Fairfield Management Company- as mentioned above, one would think that repeated calls about such a basic necessity as heat would get a call back in a timely manner. The management company calling someone back nore than a week later about heat is like the fire dep't saying they'll get back to you in about an hour or two - UNACCEPTABLE.
Fairfield Courtyard at Hewlett - 63-67 prospect ave
This blog is a place for the current and previous tenants of the Fairfield Courtyard at Hewlett, formerly known as Seawane Greens, to write about their experiences with the complex and the management company. This blog was started after Fairfield Management took over Seawane Greens and renamed it the Fairfield Courtyard at Hewlett.
If you are a current or former tenant please feel free to leave your comments and feedback regarding you're experiences with the complex at 63 - 67 prospect avenue, Hewlett. We are simply a group of four current tenants (three separate apartments) who have had less than positive experiences with the new management company - Fairfield management. This blog is not intended to disparage the complex or management company, but rather to inform existing and potential residents about the state of events at the Fairfield Hewlett Courtyard.
If you are considering renting at these "luxury apartments", please take a moment to consider the points made below by current and former residents, and the amount of poor management, shoddy services, and unreturned complaints that it took before we even discussed starting this blog. Luckily, the internet is the great equalizer, something Fairfield Management will learn soon enough as you read this now.
